Vela Astor Metal Finishes

Once a traditional finish which burnished naturally in use, Vela is a pre burnished aged copper finish with a clear gloss lacquer preventing change and handling marks over time. Copper is a highly reactive metal. While copper does not corrode, or rust it does tarnish easily. Astor work in a patina with an accelerated aging process. After this process, the patina is then burnished, polished & rubbed back prior to sealing with a clear gloss automotive lacquer. Colours of copper will vary from rusty red to black and the final result can be determined by the component/ item or profile – that is; left darker in recesses and lighter on highpoints. Vela can also be applied to flat or folded panels or mesh for outstanding results and high impact metal finishes.

Application

Can be applied to any base metal . Note - we generally recommend to leave lacquered for external application.
