A subtle natural finish with subdued elegance – how poetic! As opposed to a mirror or brushed finish, this has a hand finish termed non directional (also known as disc orbital). This finish lends itself to age naturally and beautifully over time if left as a waxed finish or can be clear coated in satin or gloss for a stable finish. Often this type of polishing is the only option if parts are heavy, welded, or difficult (or dangerous) to access with polishing equipment where only hand held tools, disc pads and scotch brite pads are feasible.

Application

Applications include both indoor and outdoor use. Examples includes screens, signage, balustrades, panels, tabletops, benchtops (for a horizontal surface the base metal must be brass, which Astor can supply to size) and architectural fixtures. It will dull and tarnish over time.
